My name is John Hall, and From the Facts to the Fiction is some of the stuff I've written. That pretty much explains it all. It's not ALL of the stuff I've written, of course. There's more of everything and other stuff besides; I hope over the coming future people keep returning to see what other splendid and exciting things are on here.
A bit about me, then. Well, I suffer from a terrible affliction. I am never satisfied. There will always be higher mountains to climb, bigger hurdles to jump, thing I haven't done that I wish I could, and things I'll never get to do that leave bitter pangs of regret. My Formula One career is over, for example, as is my singing career - I just never got the breaks. This is part of human nature I think, part of life's rich tapestry. We'd all be pretty boring if we weren't like that.
It's a handy affliction, though, if you want to write. You have to have that driving you, or you never get anything done. Life gets in the way. I write because I have to. Ideas come, and there are mountains of them, and then it seems wrong to ignore them and play Football Manager or go to the pub instead. I have to make them real, all of them, and share them. That's not to say I don't occasionally go to the pub instead. The pub is a very, very important part of the creative process. Football Manager isn't - if you're a user, I do urge you to seek help.
Of course whatever happens there will never be enough time. There will always be more words that need to be written, and more pubs that need to be visited, more Karaoke songs that need singing. It has to be like that. If we had all the time in the world, we'd never get anything done at all.
